IOGEAR has released the MiniView SE KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch, which the company says will simplify the workspace. How? The console PS/2 ports (keyboard and mouse) are now upfront for better cable management.
The switch allows access to two or four separate computers (there are two different models of the MiniView SE) through a single keyboard, mouse, and monitor. You just select push buttons found on the front panel and enter Hotkey combinations from the keyboard, according to Kevin Luong, senior channel sales manager at IOGEAR.
The MiniView SE comes with all the necessary cables and no software installation is required, he added. If you want, you can expand the device by daisy chaining it to additional units to control up to 64 computers.
The MiniView SE is available for US$139 or $199 for a two or four computer version respectively. The device functions on any hardware platform with all operating systems, Luong said.
