Packetport.com is using this week’s SuperComm 2001 trade show in Atlanta, Ga. to introduce its VoicePak Phone, a handset telephone designed to work with PCs and Macs to support Voice over IP (VoIP) communications.
The VoicePak handset is designed to let you make calls phone calls over the Internet using your PC or Mac. The USB-based VoicePak incorporates a mic, speaker, DSP processor and volume control.
Packetport.com CEO Ron Durando said that businesses can run VoicePak handsets behind their corporate firewalls.
“Furthermore, utilizing VoicePak’s proprietary IP subnet address feature, you can now make or receive telephone calls from any Internet-connected PC — anywhere or anytime,” said Durando.
The VoicePak handset is compatible with various flavors of Microsoft Windows, and also works with Mac OS 9.
