John Brandon has joined Apple as vice president of the Americas (which includes both North and South America) and Asia Pacific. He’ll lead Apple’s sales for the U.S., Canada, South America and Asia Pacific, excluding education and Apple’s retail stores.
Brandon joins Apple from Academic Systems Corporation (ASC), where he served as president and chief executive officer. ASC focuses on meeting the needs of higher education faculty and students.
Under Brandon’s leadership, ASC became the leading supplier of technology-based content to the higher education market, according to Apple. He also spent 10 years at Adobe, helping to create their application software business, and serving as vice president and general manager of North America from 1994 to 1997. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Davis.
“John’s impressive track record shows his ability to significantly grow market share and provide excellent leadership to his teams,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Operations, in a statement. “We are excited to have him as a member of our management team.”
