BlueKite — an Internet software company that provides a platform enabling the delivery of rich content to mobile computing devices — has named Robin Abrams, a former Apple exec, as president and CEO.
Abrams’ senior management positions at Apple Computer included serving as president of the Americas and vice president and general manager of Apple Asia. Abrams also served as president of Palm Computing, when it was a division of 3Com. Prior to 3Com/Palm, Abrams also served as president and CEO of VeriFone Inc., a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard, where she led the traditional point-of-sale business and the growth of electronic commerce markets for smart cards and Internet solutions.
At BlueKite, she will drive the company’s expansion into Eastern Asian markets and work to advance BlueKite’s product offering with both new and existing customers in Europe and the Americas, according to BlueKite Chairman Bill Hipp.
