Quest has released Funnel Web Analyzer 4.0.3 for Mac OS 9, the first in what company officials say will be a series of new products for Enterprise level Web managers to map, manage and measure Web site activity. Funnel Web Analyzer comes in two versions: the US$495 Standard Edition and the beefed up, $1,495 Enterprise Version.
Major changes in this release include a 15 percent improvement in speed and memory footprint as well as a new “flushing mode” feature to enable processing of gigabytes worth of log data, according to MacTech magazine. This version also supports new international language format files for support of non-roman character sets such as Chinese and Japanese.
Funnel Web Analyzer 4.0.3 has new Referral and Custom Format settings panes added — though the former is only in the Enterprise Edition. You can now select multiple files with the same name, but in different folders. The Scheduler dialog has been resized to handle long path names. The update has added ability to turn on/off Flushing mode, which removes rarely used clients from memory.
The report time can be shifted to align with GMT or other time zones. Funnel Web’s database feature is now compatible with multiple reports, such as weekly/monthly and Virtual Host reports. Error handling has been improved for corrupt or invalid log files. Language file formats have been updated to allow extensive customization, according to CEO Darren Williams. The Languages menu is populated according to installed files, and can be updated easily, he said.
With version 4.0.3, disk free space is checked while reports are being constructed. Links to countries information is now updated to match external site links. And there are various bug fixes.
