Pixar had previously released a “teaser” trailer for “Monsters, Inc.” that was also available for download from Apple’s Web site. This is the first opportunity most people have had to actually check out footage from the new movie, which comes out on November 2. “Monsters, Inc.” features the voice talents of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, James Coburn, and other well-known actors.
The movie tells the story of the hard-working boogiemen (and … err … boogiewomen?) that live inside the closets and under the beds of children’s rooms around the world. It turns out, though, that they’re as afraid of us as we are of them — the chaos created when a curious kid enters their clandestine domain for the first time serves up some riotous Pixar-style fun.
“Monsters, Inc.” is the fourth full-length feature film effort created by Pixar, who has previously produced huge animated money-makers like “Toy Story,” “Toy Story 2” and “A Bug’s Life.” A fifth feature film tentatively entitled “Finding Nemo” is also in production — it is scheduled for release in 2003.
