Chaotic Software has released an update to MP3 Rage, bringing it to version 3.4. The update is available for download from Chaotic’s Web site.
MP3 Rage is what the company describes as the “definitive collection of tools for MP3 enthusiasts.” With the application you can search and download MP3’s using Napster or Gnutella file sharing system, edit ID3 tags, analyze MP3’s and adjust their sound volume automatically to play at similar levels, export MP3 files to AIFF format for burning CD’s, play MP3 files, catalog, organize, rename, find, and change files and their ID3 tags.
This version of MP3 Rage has fixed or improved on several features including: added Duplicate Finder tool to find duplicate MP3’s in your collection; enhanced the Multiple QuickEdit tool to make editing multiple files even easier; changed Edit File Resources tool to remove balloon help when there is no text in the edit field; Improved Track Numberer to skip files that do not look like MP3’s; fixed problem in Tag Changer when setting the total tracks, but not the track number; improved Tag Changer to only process files that look like MP3’s.
MP3 Rage requires a Power PC Mac and Mac OS 8.0 or higher — it also runs natively on Mac OS X.
