Apple picked up several awards in BusinessWeek Online’s Annual Design Awards for 2001. The company’s popular Titanium PowerBook won a gold award in the Computer Equipment category. The much praised but poor selling Cube and Apple’s Pro Speakers picked up a bronze award in the same division.
The Design Awards are designed to highlight the trend of corporations’ turning to designers to create concept products that show what can work in the marketplace. The entries were judged by the Industrial Designers Society of America and the awards were sponsored by Business Week.
