Beginning today, Epson’s business-level printers, the Stylus Color 880 and 880i will sell for US$129, and the Epson Stylus Color 8 Cubed will sell for $159. If you purchase one of three printers listed above, you are also eligible for a mail-in rebate of $30 valid through August 31, 2001.
Buyers of the Color Stylus 8 Cubed are also eligible for an additional $30 mail-in rebate as well as a free printer stand from Epson. This offer is valid through June 30, 2001.
The 880, 880i and 8 Cubed printers deliver up to 12 ppm black text and up to nine ppm text and color graphics. They also combine 2880 dpi and four-picoliter droplets for high photo-quality output, according to the company. An optional external Ethernet interface is also available.
If you want the printer to match your Mac, Epson offers the Stylus Color 880i in an ice exterior case with a transparent graphite lid. The Stylus Color 8 Cubed has a clear lid with dark turquoise buttons and paper trays that the company says complement the design of the Power Mac G4 Cube.
Epson is also offering discounted prices on its consumer line of printers, the Stylus Color 777 and 777i, which will now sell for $79. The Stylus Color 777i comes with an ice exterior case and a standard indigo lid to match Apple’s iMac. Additional color lids are available in ruby, sage, graphite and purple for $9.95, if you have an older iMac.
According to documentation provided on Epson’s Web site, all of these printers are Mac OS X compatible.
