LCD product line manager Christopher Connery explained that the LCD1850X has been developed for multi-monitor environments where desktop space is at a premium.
“Financial trading floors, call centers, government and corporate environments benefit from this slimmer design, enabling the user to view more information simultaneously without taking up costly real estate space,” said Connery.
The 18-inch monitor weighs 18.7 pounds and incorporates a native resolution of 1280×1024 at 75Hz. It includes a digital video interface (DVI) as well as a more traditional VGA connector. The display features a backlight at 240 cd/m2.
The LCD1850X can either be mounted on a desk or attached to a wall on an arm mount, if the user prefers. The thin stand pivots and the monitor can function in either portrait or landscape orientation, thanks to NEC’s “XtraView” technology. The display also has an optional “sound bar attachment” for users who plan to utilize the monitor for multimedia presentations. The display comes in either black or white cabinets.
The new LCD1850X carries an estimated street price of US$2,299. The screen is covered by a three-year warranty, and 24/7 toll-free technical support.
