One of Apple’s first two retail stores opened in Tysons Corner Mall in McLean, VA. Now sources tell MacCentral that Apple will open a second Apple store in the Northern Virginia Area in the next 2-3 months.
“I interviewed with an Apple recruiter for a position at the Apple Store in Clarendon,” one source told us.
Clarendon is a neighborhood in the county of Arlington VA, just 10 minutes from Washington, DC, and only about 15 miles from Tysons Corner.
The first two Apple retail stores opened in May at Tysons Corner and the Gendale Galleria in Glendale, CA. Twenty-three more will open across the United States before the end of the year with more planned for 2002.
“We’ll be opening more next year, but we’ll refine our plans based on how the first stores do,” Apple CEO Steve Jobs said during the opening weekend.
