IDG World Expo indicates that the registration numbers are up significantly for next month’s Macworld Conference & Expo. The event takes place July 17 – 20 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. IDG World Expo said that more than 60,000 attendees are expected to come, with the conference program showing a 25 percent increase in registration over last year’s summer expo.
Overall pre-registration for the expo is up 14 percent. IDG World Expo said that the event has seen a steady increase in pre-registration since the first week of online registration. Online registration for this summer’s Expo broke the record for total pre-registered exhibits-only attendees in a one-week period.
IDG World Expo Vice President Rob Scheschareg said that Mac users are the most loyal audience in the computer industry.
“With Macworld’s exclusive OS X educational content and new programs for attendees to network with their peers, Mac enthusiasts are still jumping at the chance to come to Macworld Conference & Expo,” said Scheschareg. “While other shows struggle with dwindling attendance numbers, this continues to be the must-attend event for all Mac users and those considering Mac products and services for the first time.”
Macworld Conference & Expo is sponsored by Mac Publishing, LLC, publishers of Macworld Magazine, Macworld.com and MacCentral.com.
