German Mac game publisher e.p.i.c. interactive entertainment has updated the status of several projects they’re working on at the present time. Spokesperson Thomas Steiding indicates that three separate projects will become available for Mac users this summer.
Steiding indicated that The Feeble Files is now in late beta and may go into production as early as next week. The title ships on 3 CD-ROMs and comes in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian. The Feeble Files was originally produced for the PC by Adventuresoft, which has previously collaborated with e.p.i.c. in its conversion of Simon the Sorcerer II for the Mac.
The Feeble Files is a graphical adventure game in which you take the role of Feeble, an alien who works in the crop circle division of a dictatorial government. Feeble becomes entangled in a rebellion, and that’s where the fun begins. The game features more than 80 separate locations, 6000 lines of voice dialogue, and rendered 3D graphics.
The company is also working on Knights and Merchants. It’s an empire building game originally produced for the PC by TopWare Interactive. Set during medieval times, Knights and Merchants is a “strategic economy simulator.” It’s your goal to win all the provinces your king has lost by building an effective economy and a strong defense.
Steiding indicated that Knights and Merchants is now in early beta testing. e.p.i.c. should have a downloadable, playable demo version to become available by mid-July.
e.p.i.c. released its Mac conversion of TopWare’s real-time strategy game Earth 2140 this past April. Fans of the game will get a chance to add to the challenge with a new Earth 2140 Mission Pack add-on CD. The Earth 2140 Mission Pack adds 80 new single player missions, 6 new units, 2 new buildings and 1 new terrain. The add-on pack is expected to be released by the end of July.
