Inspiration Software released Exploring Kidspiration, a training CD designed to help educators successfully integrate Kidspiration and visual learning into the curriculum, at this week’s National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) in Chicago. The step-by-step, interactive tutorial trains educators on Kidspiration and lets them learn at their own pace or select specific areas of training, according to Mona Westhaver, president of Inspiration Software.
Exploring Kidspiration provides information and examples of visual learning methodologies with the goal of inspiring young readers and writers to build confidence in creating stories, organizing information, understanding concepts, and expressing and sharing their ideas. A step-by-step tutorial guides educators through Kidspiration’s integrated Picture and Writing views, including details on how to tailor the software to best meet the needs of students, Westhaver said. The interactive tutorial takes about an hour for the complete training, or educators can use it as a reference tool for answers to specific questions.
“Schools can supplement in-service training with Exploring Kidspiration’s comprehensive tutorial,” Westhaver said. “The visual learning examples and activities make it easy for teachers to take what they’ve learned directly into their own classrooms.”
