DVD Studio Pro, Apple’s high end DVD creation tool, may be updated soon. There’s no download link for the update yet, but the online help for DVD Studio Pro has release notes for version 1.1. (You launch the online help while in the application, and it downloads information about 1.1.)
The update will apparently fix some bugs and add support for third party DVD-R burners. Bug fixes include a DDP formatting error, and PAL timebase fixes. Also, gamma clamping in DV files should be fixed, MPEG2 encoding has been optimized and handling of Final Cut Pro files has been improved.
The update will, of course, require DVD Studio Pro 1.0. And it also requires FireWire Authoring Support 1.1. (Thanks to MacCentral reader David Saraceno for the heads up on this item.)
