CE Software has updated its QuickConference instant messaging software to version 1.6, adding an instant reply feature and a custom “do not disturb” message.
Users can reply instantly by selecting a response from a customizable list. They can also choose from a customizable pop-up list of “do not disturb” messages. With version 1.6, there’s also yellow highlighting of new messages for easy recognition and an updated server compatible with InOut Tracker, CE Software’s electronic in/out board for both Mac and Windows TCP/IP Networks. The interface has been redesigned to be easier to use for login and new accounts, said John Kirk, president of CE Software, in a statement.
QuickConference is available immediately via the CE Software web site. A free 30-day trial version is also available.
The application can be purchased in packs of 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 users at prices of US$119.95, $199.95, $399.95, $499.95 and $699.95, respectively. Upgrade pricing is $30, regardless of the number of users. Upgrades from version 1.5 are free with the purchase of InOut Tracker 1.6.
Recommended Macintosh server requirements are a Power Mac with Mac OS 7.6.1 through Mac OS 9.1 and at least 32MB of RAM. Each server supports as many as 200 users and links up to 14 servers. Server and clients must be utilizing TCP/IP and Ethernet.
Recommended Mac client requirements are a Mac with at least a 68030 processor running Mac OS 7.1 through Mac OS 9 with a minimum of 8MB of RAM. There’s no word on a native Mac OS X version.
