dvGarage, a company dedicated to training the next generation of visual media artists, is showing viewers how to have their work go down the tube.
Alex Lindsay, former member of Industrial Light and Magic’s Rebel Mac Unit, continues dvGarage’s how-to tutorial series with an animated step-by-step process of building a dynamically generated fly-through of a cave.
“This tutorial really simplifies a very challenging process,” he said. “By dynamically creating the cave with simple image based techniques, you can have much more creative control over the process.”
The tutorial is dvGarage’s 12th in a series of tutorials and adds to the two-plus hours of free streaming tutorials on the site that, according to Lindsay, observe the world from a computer artist’s point of view and tries to recreate that world through easy to follow animated tutorials. dvGarage is a QuickTime-only site.
