Macworld has launched Macworld Classifieds, a dedicated Web site that lets anyone buy or sell Macs and Mac-related products.
Macworld Classifieds will be a real-time exchange that brings name brand retailers, small stores and individual sellers to one Web site, according to Christina Gonzales, Macworld’s senior web producer. Buyers can instantly compare prices between sellers and also between used, liquidated and refurbished Mac products. In addition, buyers have the advantage of reviewing out-the-door prices since Macworld Classifieds displays each seller’s actual tax and shipping information.
Once sellers have entered their information on the site, their products are added to the Macworld Classifieds database and be available immediately for sale. It costs nothing to list a product; however, there’s a small transaction fee when a sale is finalized. As part of a promotional effort to launch the new site all transactions will be free for the rest of this month.
“Macworld Classifieds is the next step in providing more to the Macworld community,” Gonzales said. “This unique tool allows Macworld readers to purchase at a discount the products they’ve been reading about, while those wanting to sell have the advantage of putting their products in front of thousands of readers who visit our Macworld sites every day.”
Besides MacCentral, Mac Publishing publishes Macworld magazine and the Macworld.com and MacworldPriceFinder.com Web sites.
