Just over a month after shipping Now Up-to-Date & Contact 4.0, a major upgrade to the Mac contact manager and calendar software, Power On has released an update, version 4.0.1. According to Bob Leeds, Power On’s vice president of business development & public relations, the new release addresses a number of areas that enhance the product’s ease of use and performance.
Now Up-to-Date & Contact 4.0.1 adds Microsoft Outlook Express, Entourage, and Outlook support in e-mail preferences. It improves conversion of files from earlier versions of Now Up-to-Date & Contact to accommodate files with more than 100 keywords. Ease of setup is enhanced for connecting to servers, Leeds said.
Templates with merge fields that contain no data are now properly formatted. Version 4.0.1 increases the speed with which QuickFind searches Shared Keywords. It enables user-definable hot key access to the QuickContact menu. The update also:
Fixes word wrap in calendar Multi-Day and List views;
Improves printing of predefined calendar formats;
Adds the ability to connect a single client to multiple Public Event Servers residing on a single Mac;
Adds an Administrator Scripts folder to the Scripts menu, which includes a new “Merge Categories” script.
A complete list of all version 4.0.1 changes and product features is available from the
Power On Software Web site. Now Up-to-Date & Contact version 4.0.1 is available now. The suggested retail price of the product is US$129.95, with electronic downloads available for $119.95.
Upgrades from earlier versions of Now Up-to-Date & Contact are $49.95, and either purchase automatically qualifies for a free upgrade to version 4.1, the native OS X version due for release later this summer.
