Aestiva LLC announced the release of Aestiva Knowledge Base, which it bills as a searchable database application for Web sites — it works on Mac OS, as well as UNIX and Windows systems.
Web site proprietors can add Aestiva Knowledge Base to their sites to provide users with simple and complex search functions. Features include a Web-based administration module that can be used to define the parameters of the knowledge database and tailor the interface. Data can also be imported from other sources, and users can add entries while “hiding” the content from public review until it’s ready. Search entries and click-throughs can be logged.
The software works hand-in-hand with Aestiva’s HTML/OS Professional or Runtime editions — a cross-platform computing environment that runs on Windows, Mac and UNIX-based servers. The Aestiva Knowledge Base software is “ready out of the box,” according to the company, requiring no programming. It can be installed at shared hosting sites or dedicated servers.
Aestiva Knowledge Base requires Aestiva HTML/OS Professional or Runtime environments. The software carries a retail price of US$650. More details are available from Aestiva LLC’s Web site.
