The second beta of Passenger 2.0 is available from MacinMind Software, improving support for Mac OS X Server and squishing some bugs. Passenger is a server account creation and password generation tool.
Passenger takes comma or tab-delimited text, Mac OS X Server (MOSXS) & ASIP XML, or the names of folders in folders and imports names and other information to prepare for import into a server. You can import first, last, and/or full name fields and use the menus to devise a formulation for usernames and repeating digit usernames. Passenger will check for duplicate usernames before exporting. You can also generate passwords, set account parameters, export for servers and create folders.
The latest beta version offers converted, updated and expanded documentation; the ability to set Creator for all export files using Preferences; a change whereby comments are now exported to MOSXS; added repeating username functionality to exports other than Macintosh Manager and MOSXS; clarified how username formulation is used for Name in MOSXS (while short name is formulated separately); and added a new thumbnail icon for Mac OS X. Password type is now exported in custom export. Usernames and Passwords are now generated by Passenger when exporting imported usernames and passwords and the import is nil.
Made with the REALBasic development environment from REAL Software, Passenger is available in both a Standard and Professional versions with prices ranging from US$60 to $200. A version for Mac OS 8.5 or higher (a 737k file) and a Mac OS X (a 889k file) are available from the MacinMind Web site.
