For the second consecutive year, the Art Software Group, a regional Apple User Group serving Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana, is hosting the Macworld Digital Art Gallery.
An independent panel of judges from the digital art community chose 30 images from “Student” and “Non-Student” categories. This gallery of 30 images was selected from over 900 entries of “Student” and “Non-Student” categories. The winning images will premiere at this week’s Macworld New York.
The images will also travel across the country as an exhibition to art galleries and universities and to Macworld San Francisco in January 2002. Louisville, Kentucky’s most prestigious shopping mall, The Oxmoor Center with more than 22,000 visitors weekly, is one of these destinations, Randy Jarnagin, coordinator of the Macworld Digital Art Gallery, told MacCentral.
The grand prize winner receives, along with hardware and software, a trip to the Macworld Expo in New York or San Francisco with airfare, hotel, conference and “Super Pass.” Digital art and graphic related prizes from the contest’s many sponsors are also distributed to the 30 winning artists. The contest is supported by Wacom, Corel, Iomega and Xerox. Lexmark is sponsoring the Louisville showing.
