CE Software Inc. today announced the release of a free public beta version of QuicKeys X for Mac OS X. It can be download from the Web site today.
QuicKeys enables you to automate routinely performed tasks on your Mac. You can assign hotkeys or create a toolbar to execute commonly used functions like opening folders and typing text. You can also perform multi-step tasks.
QuicKeys X incorporates new features, including: Support for the Aqua user interface Combine individual actions into multi-step Shortcuts A new Editor to create, delete or modify Shortcuts A new Sticky option to allow multiple key presses Shortcut Import & Export Custom toolbar creation with support for any and all Shortcuts QuicKeys Dockling, to trigger shortcuts, edit toolbars, or control playback of Shortcuts from the Dock. Ability to copy and move files to a specified folder Single-trigger spell correction Execution of UNIX commands via Shortcuts and much more.
The final version of QuicKeys X will be available this August, direct from CE Software. The introductory price is US$49.95. The company is now accepting advance orders, as well.
