Waves Ltd., a supplier of audio signal processing solutions for the professional audio and multimedia markets, has announced new updates of interest to those involved in professional audio.
The company has released version 3.2 update on their family of audio processors for native and TDM platforms. Waves audio processor plug-ins that utilize proprietary psycho-acoustic algorithms are the quality standard for thousands of top audio professionals, according to Gilad Keren, CEO of Waves. The 3.2 update adds several new features and bug fixes. The update is available for both Mac and Wintel platforms.
“Substantial improvements in system stability were implemented on both Mac and Wintel platforms,” Keren said. “The Mac versions of both MAS and VST-shells offer more solid system performance.”
Version 3.2 can be downloaded free from Waves and without additional authorization to registered version 3.0 and 3.1 users. Legacy version 2.x and new users can upgrade directly to the latest version 3.2 by trying out a free 14-day evaluation.
Waves also announced the release of the Renaissance Collection 2 processor bundle for native and TDM platforms. The Renaissance Collection 2 combines several of Waves’ psycho-acoustic technologies for sonic superiority with the Renaissance user interface for simplicity in music and post-production needs, according to Keren.
The Renaissance Collection 2 includes three new plug-ins: the Renaissance VOX, the Renaissance Bass and the Renaissance DeEsser. Renaissance VOX combines compressor, limiter and gate functions to bring vocals and solo instruments to the front of the mix while pushing out unwanted noise. Renaissance Bass refines Waves’ popular MaxxBass technology to allow bass frequency extension through speakers with limited low frequency response. Renaissance DeEsser is the next generation DeEsser offering a unique Adapative Threshold that provides a more unified DeEssing and more natural sounding results, Keren said.
Free 14-day evaluation software is currently available from Waves Web site. The Renaissance Collection 2 will be available through Waves dealers worldwide in August. The Renaissance Collection 2 is offered at a special introductory price of US$200 (manufacturers suggested retail price) for the native version (for host Mac and PC systems) and $400 for TDM, which is for Digidesign DSP hardware with a Macintosh host.
