Diasoft Corp. is rolling out FileReplicationPro, which sports a native Mac OS X user interface, at this week’s Macworld New York.
Written in Java, the product offers automatic real-time or scheduled replication for Macs (as well as Windows NT/2000, Linux, and Unix systems) across LANs, WANs, the Internet and firewalls. It provides TCP/IP based file replication.
Servers participating in replication don’t have to be in the same domain or on the same LAN or network. You can mix different kinds of operating systems in the same replication group. FileReplicationPro has fully automatic operation and automatic e-mail alerts to administrators. Files are compressed and encrypted to provide speed and security, according to Jacob Shalev, CEO of Diasoft.
“FileReplicationPro automatically schedules backups of multiple servers,” he said. “It allows for real-time replications from multiple to multiple cross platform servers. The key to its cross-platform ability is its Java based application structure. The use of TCP/IP transfers makes for faster processing and lowers CPU consumption. Additionally, its Differential File Backup and Compression conserves network bandwidth. It offers secure replication via encrypted TCP/IP packets and provides a log file for a comprehensive audit trail.”
Prices for FileReplicationPro start at US$599 for a two-pack license for two Server Replication. For more info go to the product Web site.
