Bare Bones Software has announced the release of a new version of
Super Get Info, its file and folder info utility for Mac OS X. According to Bare Bones Software, the application provides more and better features than Mac OS X Finder’s “Show Info” command.
Super Get Info enables you to open one info window for each selected Finder item, enabling you to view and edit multiple selected items discretely. You can also view and change Mac OS type and creator codes, edit and view the Unix owner, group and permission settings, and change a file’s creation and modification dates.
Super Get Info version 1.0.1 gains the following improvements:
Apply ownership and access permission changes to all items within a folder.
“Open Hidden” command to get info for invisible files and folders, including packages.
Preview panel displays the contents of many types of files, including many documents, any QuickTime content, and common image formats.
More efficient tiling of multiple Info windows
Allows changing the “invisible” attribute of files and folders.
Displays additional info on disk volumes, including space used and available, and number of items on disk.
Released as commercial software, Super Get Info costs US$20. The software is also available as a fully functional demo version with a 14-day expiration. Super Get Info requires Mac OS X 10.0 or later. An updater for version 1.0 is
available for download.
