MSN Messenger Service 2.0, Microsoft’s Internet messaging service, is now available for the Mac. It provides instant contact with the greatest number of Internet users and works with your favorite communications tools, Kevin Browne, general manager of Microsoft’s Macintosh Business Unit, said in a special Macworld New York presentation.
Designed to “fill in the personal communication space,” MSN Messenger Service 2.0 is power by the .Net Messenger Server and offers “seamless compatible” with Messenger for Windows XP (the operating system update due this October).
Browne said it would offer mobile paging, multiple user conversations, expanded Hotmail/Passport support, and lots of emoticons and fonts. He said it was a “richer client than we ever had before.”
