At this past week’s Macworld Expo, CD and DVD storage media maker
announced a distribution deal with
adicomm Inc., an Apple digital video products maker. The companies hope that the new arrangement will expand Vivastar’s product base among video production houses, broadcasters, and other companies that depend on pro DVD products.
Vivastar is already an established player in Europe, and it made its debut in North America earlier this year. The company makes what it bills as “Super High Quality (SHQ) blank CD-R, CD-RW and CD-R media in its manufacturing facility in Zug, Switzerland. It’s also moving into the drive market with the introduction of a new DVD recorder, expected to be released later this year.
Vivastar Vice President Adrian Garulay said, “with this agreement we will be extending our current consumer franchise into a lucrative new arena of commercial users in U.S. and Canada.”
