If you’ve had an interest in getting Aladdin Systems’ Spring Cleaning 4.0.1 utility but you’ve been put off by the lack of Japanese language support, you’ll be happy to know that Aladdin Systems and its Japanese partner, act2, have released Spring Cleaning 4.0.1 Japanese.
Spring Cleaning 4.0.1 incorporates 15 different cleaning utilities to help Mac users remove hard drive and Internet clutter, reclaim disk space and boost performance. The new 4.0.1 version sports compatibility with Mac OS X and two new Mac OS X-exclusive features — QuickCompare and AccessMonitor. The new version also features CookieEditor and MailCleaner, and has two user interface modes — Standard and Advanced. The software also ships with iClean, a standalone desktop cleaning that cleans out Internet cookies, cache and history files, reattaches aliases, and empties the trash.
Users who purchased Spring Cleaning 3.5/3.5.1 Japanese after June 30, 2001 are entitled to a free upgrade. Users of earlier versions of Spring Cleaning can upgrade for ¥1900; an identically priced sidegrade is available for users of Symantec’s North SystemWorks and Norton Internet Security, too.
System requirements call for a PowerPC-based Mac running Mac OS 8.1 or later (including Mac OS X); 8MB of RAM; Internet Config 2.0 or higher; CarbonLib 1.0.4 or higher; Navigation Services 1.0.1 or higher.
Japanese users interested in ordering Spring Cleaning 4.0.1 can do so for ¥4900. More information on pricing and availability is at act2’s Web site; the company distributes Aladdin’s products to major retailers throughout Japan.
