Nemetschek North America has announced the release of a new version of
Vectorworks SPOTLIGHT, its entertainment and lighting design software. The new version, 9.0.1, sports new features and functionality.
Vectorworks SPOTLIGHT 9.0.1 utilizes a new 64-bit floating-point coordinate system, which provides better stability and enhanced accuracy compared to previous versions. 3D graphics now support NURBS and Extrude-Along-A-Path features. Other changes include: New interface elements to help with routine drafting and modeling tasks DXF and DWG import and export commands now support AutoCAD 2000i Enhanced support for text; spell checker and find/replace commands Support for “Associated Dimensioning” Easier tool and command customization via VectorScript OpenGL support Seating Layout command, editable worksheets, and an updated instrument library with European and metric measurements.
System requirements for Vectorworks SPOTLIGHT 9.0.1 call for a PowerPC-based Mac with a 604e or faster processor; Mac OS 8.6 or higher; 64MB RAM; 52MB HD space; 800×600 resolution with 256 colors or more; CD-ROM drive.
Nemetschek North America said that the Vectorworks SPOTLIGHT 9.0.1 upgrade would be sent to registered users. The new version is available in the US, and the company advises that international versions will be available through the company’s distributor channel in the coming moths.
