Trinfinity Software has released Time Track version 1.0, an application originally designed for consultants to minimize time spent logging hours and to enhance billing accuracy. It can be utilized by any profession and allows the user to quickly and easily log the durations of events, according to Eileen Newsom of Trinfinity.
It’s available in traditional Mac OS versions for both 68 k and Power PC machines, as well as a Carbonized version for Mac OS X. Windows and Palm versions are also in the works.
Time Track 1.0, developed with the REALbasic development environment from REAL Software, offers date and time logging that includes starting month, day, year, hours, minutes and seconds. Users can add a description to each log entry. Logs are stored in standard text files for easy integration with other applications and AppleScript, Newsom said.
Time Track supports multiple log files for categorizing logs. You can open, edit, save and print logs from within the application. An Elapsed Time Calculator lets you calculate the hours, minutes and seconds that have elapsed from one date and time to another. A Rate Calculator can instantly calculate the total to be charged based on hourly rate and total time in. And the Total Time Calculator automatically determines the total amount of time logged to date and displays it in an itemized list that can be edited.
When used in conjunction with the Macintosh Date & Time control panel Network Time Server feature, Time Track date and time logging is exact to the second automatically so you never have to worry about Daylight Savings Time or resetting your computer’s clock, Newsom said. The app can automatically convert log files to Web pages, supports drag and drop of log files and provides online help via Balloon Help.
Time Track 1.0 is available for download at the Trifinity Software Web site. The cost is US$24 for a single user license and $100 for a site license.
