Adobe and The Art Institute Online, a division of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, have formed an educational alliance to develop and market certificate programs in Web Design as part of The Art Institute Online Center for Professional Development.
The Center for Professional Development will offer intensive, accelerated modules in the Web Design certificate programs in an online format that are specifically designed around targeted professional areas, according to a statement from Adobe and The Art Institute Online. Two programs initially offered will be: “Introduction to Web Design” and “Web Site Development.” Each will consist of five courses in six-week modules and will include Fundamentals of Design for the Web, Architecture and Information Management, Web Authoring, Defining and Debugging Specs, Design a Web Site, Introduction to Multimedia and Web Design, Interactive Design, Web Authoring Tools, User Interface Design, Develop a Web Site.
Adobe will provide assistance in curriculum development and the company’s software products will be the standard for these Web programs, according to Bryan Lamkin, Senior vice president at Adobe. The Web Design certificate programs will utilize Adobe GoLive and Adobe LiveMotion Web authoring and Web animation tools that are used extensively for Internet Web site content creation and development.
