The New York Times announced today it would be included in the News section of Apple’s Sherlock search technology. Sherlock will search the NYTimes.com Web site and archives.
“We are pleased to be working with Apple to deliver great features to the Mac community,” said Catherine Levene, vice president of strategy and business development for New York Times Digital. “Providing immediate access to NYTimes.com’s content will ensure a comprehensive, high-quality search experience for Sherlock users.”
Sherlock allows users to search files on local disks and to search those disks by content, once they have been indexed. With Sherlock, you can also search the Web using built-in channels such as Internet, People, Shopping, News and others. Companies participating in Sherlock include Aladdin Systems, Amazon.com, eBay, ESPN, PBS.com, Rolling Stone and many others.
The New York Times is currently available for use under the News section of Sherlock.
