Aurora Video Systems
has announced that its Igniter RT product is now shipping. The card provides real time QuickTime-based functionality for users of Aurora’s Igniter video capture card.
Aurora said that Igniter RT adds the following functionality to Power Mac G4s already equipped with an Igniter card:
Real time fade in/outs
Real time color correction such as brightness, contrast, gamma, luma, chroma, etc.
Uncompressed 4-2-2, YUV color space support
Final Cut Pro 2.0 compatibility
Adobe Premiere 6.0 compatibility
Quicktime 5.0 compatibility
Ability to edit using native YUV color space
Support for Luma keying to the Key output on the breakout box 10 bit proc-amp to the SDI input (SDI option enhancement)
Aurora first announced the developed of Igniter RT this past April. Aurora Video Systems CTO Tim McMahon said that his company is proud to ship Igniter RT on schedule.
“Igniter RT is one of the first high-end, real-time solutions for Final Cut Pro 2.0 and Premiere 6.0,” said McMahon.
Aurora said that present Igniter customers will be able to upgrade their current hardware for the price difference of the RT feature and their existing boardset. The base IgniterRT package costs US$1,999. For more info about IgniterRT’s capabilities and functionality, visit the
