Disney Interactive announced today the release of the Zoog Disney: Zoog Genius Learning Series. It’s a quiz show-style CD-ROM game for “tweens” — kids ages 9 to 12. The series is comprised of two different titles that emphasize different learning skills.
Zoog Genius Math, Science and Technology and Zoog Genius Language Arts, History and Geography are both based on the Zoog Disney programming block found on the Disney Channel cable television network. Kids compete in what Disney describes as a “fun and irreverent, yet educational” game show-style trivia game, and interact with their favorite Zoog Disney stars.
The titles incorporate pop culture-themed questions and talk show-style banter, encouraging players to race against the clock and each other as they answer questions on a variety of subjects, while learning as they go along. The games sport multiple difficulty levels, and have more than 700 questions each. Parents and teachers can customize each title by adding their own questions, as well. New question packs also can be downloaded from the Internet.
The Zoog Genius titles are hybrid CD-ROMs compatible with both Windows and Mac OS. They carry a suggested retail price of US$19.99 and should be available in retail stores nationwide.
