Alpha Software Express LLC has announced the release of CAD Object Manager 1.0. It’s a Java-based application that enables users to create and manage engineering and architectural designs, and it runs on any platform that supports Java, Mac OS included.
The developers explained that CAD Object Manager is capable of using simple objects, like a circle or discrete image, or complex objects, like a set of simple objects tied together as a single unit. Users can define names and other attributes to complex objects, too. The software provides document management functions, like drawing check out and check in and privilege token assignment.
Since specific protections can be assigned to each object and to documents, CAD Object Manager makes it possible for many users to collaborate on a project’s design without need to worry about others altering their work.
The cost to license CAD Object Manager 1.0 depends on what features are selected. For an introductory time, a basic version is available for free. The fully loaded version costs US$500.
