Universal Vivendi subsidiary Knowledge Adventure today announced the release of HyperStudio 4 Student Edition, a new version of the school project creation software used in schools for more than a decade.
HyperStudio 4 Student Edition enables kids to create projects that incorporate sound, clip art, animation, video photos and art. The software is used in more than 5,000 school districts nationwide to create projects like book reports, science projects, multimedia presentations and more.
Knowledge Adventure School Group marketing director Dr. Kathryn Edwards said that parents and teachers have been asking for a home edition of HyperStudio for years. “With HyperStudio in place in more than 5,000 school districts across the nation, students can now take their school projects home to expand and polish, as well as create new multimedia masterpieces on their own,” said Edwards.
The software comes with what Knowledge Adventure calls a “copyright-friendly” library comprised of more than 1,400 graphics and photos, 170 backgrounds, 290 sound clips, 195 animations and 30 digital movies, as well as music tracts, project-based text files and URLs. A copy of Morph Pro 2.5 is also included, which enables kids to transform and morph images.
The hybrid CD-ROM is available for both Mac OS and Windows, and carries a suggested retail price of US$69.95. It should be available through most educational resources, some college computer stores and online at Education.com.
