Desktop publishing software maker Quark, Inc. said today that its vice president of product management Juergen Kurz will present a special keynote address at next month’s Seybold San Francisco 2001. Kurz apparently replaces Quark president CEO Fred Ebrahimi, who had previously been scheduled to deliver Quark’s special keynote. The company suggests that Kurz and his group will “unveil new technologies” at the event, as well.
Kurz will focus his time on stage on what Quark calls “media-independent publishing,” or the practice of creating, managing and delivering content flexibly and efficiently. It’s been a familiar theme at recent Seybold events, with more and more companies focusing on digital workflow solutions that enable users to create content that can be repurposed for any medium.
Quark Inc. said that Kurz would demonstrate how Quark products could be used to take advantage of multiple media without multiplying production costs. “Quark product managers will unveil new technologies for content management and collaborative publishing,” said the company.
The keynote will be held on Monday, September 24 at 12:15 p.m. PT in the Esplanade Ballroom at the Moscone Center. Seybold San Francisco 2001 itself runs from September 24 – 28. Quark also plans to host a press-only question and answer session following Kurz’s keynote.
