If you’d like to try Aspyr Media’s release of American McGee’s Alice before you buy it, you can now download a playable demo.
The game takes players to the world of Alice in Wonderland, but this is very different from how you may remember it. Suffering a horrible trauma, Alice has been sent to a sanitarium, and her inward trip to Wonderland has revealed that the Queen of Hearts has turned it into a horrible, dark and frightening place. It’s up to Alice to figure out what she needs to do to escape.
The game was developed by American McGee and Rogue Entertainment, and published for the PC by Electronic Arts. It’s built on the same underpinnings as Quake 3 Arena, and runs on Mac OS 8.6 or higher (including X). It was released by Aspyr Media over the summer following its Mac conversion by Brad Oliver and Westlake Interactive.
The 81MB demo is available for download from Macgamefiles.com. System requirements call for a PowerPC-equipped Mac, 400MHZ or faster; 128MB RAM; and RAGE 128 or better hardware-based 3D graphics acceleration.
