QuizMaker Pro, MacMuse Software’s all-in-one quiz application for the Mac, has been updated to version 4.1, adding several user requested features.
QuizMaker Pro generates, administers, archives and scores multiple choice, matching and short answer tests, according to MacTech magazine. Version 4.1 adds a preference to require a student password before a test can be taken. There’s also a new preference to allow test takers to exit before the test is completed. A “Save As…” option has been added to all test creating screens.
With the update, the splash screen now uses the entire monitor; you’re not allowed to create a duplicate class name; picture view in the large screen is scaled, and no longer cropped; and there are various bug fixes.
Version 4.1 is a free upgrade for registered user of 4.0 and a US$5 upgrade for users of previous versions. A manual, as well as a utility to convert quizzes from QMPro versions prior to 4.0, are included with the download. For new users, registration costs $18 for a single user and $100 for a site license. You can download the product from the Quizmaker Pro site.
System requirements are a Power Mac running Mac OS 7.6.1 or newer (though there’s no Carbonized version yet), a 640×480 monitor or larger, 3.8MB of hard drive space, 4MB of free RAM, and (optional but preferred) QuickTime (for showing TIFF and JPEG files).
