AIS Computers and Services is hosting one of the first Alias|Wavefront Maya seminars in the Southeast next week. It will be held Sept. 6 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. (Central) in the company’s Atlanta, GA, office located at 1100 Abernathy Road, Suite #1800, Building 50.
The event is free, and anyone can attend (though the target audience is 3D animators, 2D and 3D graphic artists, digital video professionals and game developers), according to Sales Manager Keith McDaniel. Maya is the award winning 3D animation and visual effects software for film, broadcast, video and game development.
Seminar attendees will get an introduction to the Maya user interface. Topics to be covered include creating 3D objects; modeling and deforming objects for animation; Maya particle effects; adding textures and light effects to 3D objects; Maya paint effects; basic kinematics in Maya; and examples of Maya animation
Seating is limited, so you should reserve your space now if you plan to attend. You can do this online or call 800-895-4853 and ask to register for “An Introduction to Maya on Mac OS X.”
Maya’s technology has been used by such film and video customers as Blue Sky, Cinesite, CNN, Digital Domain, Dream Quest Images, Industrial Light & Magic, Pacific Data Images (PDI), Pixar, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Disney and Warner Feature Animation.
