Intego offers Content Barrier free to iTools members
By Jim Dalrymple
Intego is offering
Content Barrier, an Internet filtering application, to members of Apple’s iTools online services free of charge for a limited time. If you
fill out a form on the company’s Web site between now and Oct. 1, 2001 they will send you instructions to download a free copy of the application.
Intego is offering the free program to fill the void left when Apple shutdown KidSafe, its Internet filtering program for children. The KidSafe program was
eliminated earlier this month due to low usage, according to the iTools team.
Even in canceling the service, Apple encouraged parents to look for alternative methods to protect their kids online. “Apple encourages you to continue monitoring your children’s use of the Internet and to be active in preventing them from accessing inappropriate content,” the iTools team said.
After filling out the form, Intego will send you and email with instructions on where to download your product by email during the first week of September 2001.
