Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 is the Mac conversion of a popular PC and video game console title published by Activision. Converted to the Mac by the folks at Westlake Interactive, it features everything the PC version does, and has been Carbonized for Mac OS X.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 puts you in control of some of the most popular pro skaters (or custom skaters you can create yourself) as they skate challenging parks all over the world, from New York to California to France. You’ll face challenging obstacles as you try to pull off insane combos for huge points. You can create your own skate parks, too.
In the game’s career mode you compete for money, improve your gear and skills, and unlock new parks and secret areas. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 also features a multiplayer mode with support for GameRanger, the Mac-only free online gaming service — you can go head to head with other Mac gamers on the Internet.
The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 demo measures in at about 22.2MB and enables you to play an unlimited number of 2-minute skate sessions. Multiplayer functionality, park and skater editors, saved games and the career mode have been excised from the demo.
System requirements call for any iMac, G3 or G4 with RAGE Pro-based hardware 3D graphics acceleration or better; Mac OS 8.6 or higher (including Mac OS X); 32MB RAM; OpenGL 1.1 or higher.
