Developer Aparajita Fishman has extended upgrade offers for QuickCode Pro (QCP) to Sept. 30. Current owners of QCP 3.x can upgrade to version 4.3 at a 27 percent discount off the retail price. Current owners of version 4.x can upgrade to 4.3 for free.
QuickCode Pro is a 4th Dimension plug-in. It’s designed to enhance the 4th Dimension method editor with a host of features that simplify and accelerate the process of writing 4D code, according to MacTech magazine.
Formerly sold by Automated Solutions Group, sales and support of QuickCode Pro are now handled by Fishman, the author, at his Web site.
Version 4 of QCP is a complete rewrite from version 3.x that focuses on stability and functionality. When used with 4D 6.5+, QCP is integrated into 4D’s event loop through special hooks created especially for it, Fishman said. Plus, QuickCode Pro 4.3 includes a “dramatically improved” PDF User Reference, Fishman said.
QuickCode Pro 4.3 is US$270 per developer. Through Sept. 30, upgrades from 3.x are $199 and upgrades from 4.x are free. After this date, there’ll no upgrade discount from version 3.x and upgrades from 4.x will be $19.95. A full working demo of QuickCode Pro can be downloaded from Aparajita’s Web site. The demo times out after 45 minutes of use, after which QuickCode Pro becomes inactive until the next launch of 4D.
