Media 100 Inc. today announced that it has teamed up with Ontario, Canada-based Humber College to create a new digital media facility based on the company’s Mac-based Media 100 i and Windows-based Media 100 iFinish 4 systems. Humber will be using the new facility to train students in video production, Web content creation, and interactive Web development.
Humber College’s dean of the School of Media Studies, William Hanna, said that the school is providing students with a competitive edge.
“We have used Media 100 for years in our Film & Television Production program. With the new focus that Media 100 has placed on digital media content creation and interactive web development, there is a clear fit with our multimedia and web site design programs,” said Hanna. Hanna also said the acquisition ties in well with the development of the college’s Ontario Post Production Training Center.
The Media 100 i system is a digital media design and content creation system that enables users to edit digital media content, apply effects using products like Adobe After Effects and Boris FX 6.0, and output files for broadcast or online delivery methods. iFinish 4 is a similar product developed for the Windows 2000 platform.
