Keyspan has announced new versions of its USB PDA Adapter and its High Speed USB Serial Adapter. The company said that the devices are faster and have undergone a form factor change to make them more convenient to use.
The USB PDA Adapter (part number USA-19Q) is now able to hot sync PDA devices at up to 115 Kbps. The device already supported PDAs from Palm, HP, Compaq, Casio and Sharp, but it now works with Psion organizers as well. The adapter now features a 3-foot detachable USB cable, as well. Look for it now for US$39.
The High Speed Serial Adapter (part number USA-19QW) now includes a 3-foot detachable USB cable, and features broader support for modems, cameras, PDAs, GPS, cell phones, hand-held scanners and other serial devices. The device carries a suggested retail price of $59 and is shipping now.
Both devices sport support for Linux 2.4, Windows 98/Me/2000, and Mac OS 8.6 or higher. Keyspan has made beta drivers for Mac OS X available.
