Two products have been updated that may be of interest to some developers.
has updated Style Master, their CSS development environment for Web professionals, to version 2.0. CSS gives developers control over the appearance of whole sites through changes to a single style sheet, according to
MacTech magazine. Style Master provides a framework for editing CSS, helping developers avoid its pitfalls through WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors, integrated browser support and online help.
Style Master supports all of the CSS2 specification including the positioning properties. Maxine Sherrin of WestCiv Webware said that version 2.0 incorporates beefed up find and replace; other tools for direct hand editing of style sheets, including color coded syntax and user control over white space in the generated style sheet; automated creation of style sheets from legacy, appearance based HTML; closer integration with other editing tools such as text editors; support for WAP 2.0 wireless Web development; advanced linking options including the ability to link whole sites in a single stroke; support for @media and @import rules; and various interface and performance improvements.
Mac-X- Software has released
REALmaker 1.0 fc1, a workgroup information management tool for the REALbasic development environment from
REAL Software. It’s 100 percent compatible with REAL Database, which allows you to quickly create a database to use in your REALbasic project, according to Francis Lessard of Mac-X- Software.
REALmaker tools include a Form Builder for adding forms in a database. The Query Constructor lets users create and run a query. There’s an encrypt engine and the ability to export tables and fields to insert in other databases. The latest version lets users open multiple databases, as well as copy and paste tables or fields in other database.
