If you’re a Mac user living in Northern California, take note: the North Coast Macintosh User Group of Santa Rosa is once again hosting their annual Mac Computer Expo, which will feature a business track and a new user track.
There’ll be workshops, lectures, a keynote speaker, silent auction, and grand raffle for a digital video camera and a PDA, plus vendors, a games station, and more, according to Kathy Aanestad of the North Coast Mac Users Group Board of Directors. The Mac Computer Expo will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Doyle Student Center at Santa Rosa Junior College, 1501 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa.
From 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., there’ll be a business track on Internet security and “computer forensics,” as well as a new user track is also slated. Running concurrently from 11 to 11:45 a.m. are “Wines, Vines, Designs & the Mac,” “Branding Yourself in the Digital Age,” and “AppleWorks.”
Jason Snell, editor of Macworld magazine will deliver a keynote address from 12 to 1:30 p.m. From 2 to 2:45, business and user tracks will include “Web Marketing,” “Designing Your Business DataBase,” and another new Mac user segment.
Afterwards, the silent auction will be held. Among the items up for bid are a Rio 600 MP3 player, one night at Fountain Grove Inn, a copy of Mac OS X, eight Apple posters, a certificate for a copy of the upcoming Microsoft Office 10 for Mac OS X, a MacAddict chair, dinner for two at Equus, a National Geographic CD Collection, Myst III Exile, Passage to Vietnam CD-ROM, a copy of Final Cut Pro, and over two dozen other items.
Participate in the Grand Prize Raffle and you could win a Canon ZR 30 digital camcorder or a Visor handheld. Raffle tickets are one for US$5 or five for $20. There’ll also be door prize drawings every hour. Sorry, only one ticket per visitor.
