MYOB US has a new MYOB Conversion Service for QuickBooks Pro 4 Macintosh users. This new service provides conversion of QuickBooks Pro version 4 Mac data files to MYOB AccountEdge, the company’s accounting and financial management tool for small business.
AccountEdge offers accounting with business, inventory and contact management capabilities. It tackles such duties as job tracking, sales management, time billing, inventory and payroll. QuickBooks from Intuit is an accounting package. QuickBooks Pro, while still available as version 4 in a standalone product, hasn’t been upgraded for the Mac.
Small business owners using QuickBooks Pro version 4 who want to switch their critical accounting information to a current, supported financial management application can visit the MYOB Web site, fill out the form and send in their company data files for updating to AccountEdge, according to Barbara Costanza, MYOB technical support manager. The basic service costs US$79.95 per data file and includes conversion of QuickBooks Pro 4 company files, along with accounts list; inventory list; customer, vendor, employee, and other contact lists; open sales; and open purchases; and jobs.
Because QuickBooks Pro files don’t separate the city, state and zip code fields, the basic service includes the necessary changes for up to 500 contact cards, Costanza said. Additional services are available at an extra charge, including the conversion of extra contact cards and the conversion of total inventory value across individual inventory items, with quantities.
“Right now our turnaround time for files is very short,” Costanza said in announcing the conversion service.
MYOB also offers a free conversion utility via download for those QuickBooks Pro 4 Macintosh users who want to process the conversion themselves. The conversion utility and additional information on the new MYOB Conversion Service can be found on the MYOB Web site.
MYOB AccountEdge runs on Mac 8.6, 9.1 and Mac OS X. It retails for $249.
