In their October issue, Outside magazine published its list of 120 cool things for technology, gear, clothes, travel, tools and fitness. Not surprisingly, the Titanium PowerBook G4 made the list.
It’s found on page 52 under the heading, “Worship Me.” Outside’s praise notes:
“Open up the Apple PowerBook G4 Titanium Edition on the boardroom table for your sponsorship pitch, and you’ll make a statement of power and influence. The G4 is a mere inch thick, weighs 5.3 pounds, and is sheathed in the same strong, light and fetish-friendly metal used to build ice axes and turbine blades. With Apple’s supercomputer-inspired Velocity Engine processor on board and a huge 15.2-inch screen you can watch your favorite DVD’s on the redeye to Charles de Gaulle.”
The TiPB was also recently named the ” Coolest Notebook In the World ” by Mobile Computing magazine . The award was featured in the “Mobile Innovators of 2001” of the September issue. (Thanks to MacCentral reader Ford J. Taketa for the heads-up on the “Outside” info.)
